Our partner works with a Maasai pastoralist community aiming to create a more secure and stable life. The organisation focus on the promotion of education, social enterprise and health and well-being.
Their main programmes focus on: residential assistance to girls to keep them in school; an enterprise programme for pastoralist women to gain marketable skills and the opportunity to earn an income selling handicrafts and products; and a safe drinking water programme distributing ceramic water filters to families and providing health screening.
Your role as a first volunteer will be to conduct an internal review of their current systems and procedures, and make and implement recommendations for best practice.
You will also be reviewing their use of QuickBooks and handling of multi currencies. You will be assisting them to set up systems for tracking and valuing inventories and COGS and prepare annual financial statements.
This partner have offered to cover the cost of a Tanzanian business permit and will be able to provide accommodation in a volunteer room or a homestay with the founder.
Please note that overseas assignments, in this case in Tanzania, will incur a placement fee as per the AfID Volunteer Programme fee scale.
