Board Members, Alberta Capital Finance Authority

The President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving as a member of the Alberta Capital Finance Authority (ACFA).

 

The ACFA is a provincial corporation that provides local authorities throughout Alberta with flexible funding through loans for capital projects.  Three upcoming board member opportunities will be available for candidates with business experience, and expertise in one or more of the following areas:   commercial credit, financial management, accounting, investments or risk management, information technology, legal, public policy (includes federal, provincial and municipal levels of government).  Proven leadership, excellent communication skills, a track record of building consensus with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to be fair and open minded while exercising sound judgment are essential.  Experience in board governance as well as related post-secondary education and a designation are assets.

 

Successful candidates will be appointed by Order-in-Council for a term of up to three years, with the potential for reappointment, based on satisfactory performance, to a maximum of nine years of continuous service.  Members are remunerated for meeting preparation and attendance and are compensated for travel expenses in accordance with government regulations. Compensation is currently under review.  Closing Date:  December 27, 2016.
