Manager, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

Reporting to the Director, Cost & Inventory, the Manager, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable oversees the Corporate Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, managing a staff complement of eight direct reports and temporary assignments. The Manager supports the corporation’s 17 sites and its end users with regards to the Accounts Payable function, all who enter invoices for payment in a decentralized model and remit centrally. The Manager supports PotashCorp’s alignment of the procurement to payment process and supports continuous improvement for the A/P & A/R functions, being the superuser of the Oracle EBS A/P Module. Working with the Treasury and IT groups, the Manager ensures the payments for all North American operations are made on a timely and efficient basis, and prepares all required regulatory compliance reporting payments made by the company. The incumbent oversees the monthly close of the A/P and Purchasing Oracle Modules and ensures completion of monthly reconciliations and quarterly variance analysis. The Manager ensures processing and payment of employee travel expenses, and Corporate Purchasing Card programs on a timely basis.

As the Corporate A/P superuser, the Manager works with the sites, other departments, and IT support in addressing system issues regarding the A/P & A/R function. The Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the Corporate Supplier Vendor file. The incumbent also provides adhoc reporting requirements as required.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in business administration or commerce from an accredited university, with a Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation. This position requires a minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in management accounting, or a combination of 10 years of finance experience and post-secondary education. Additionally, experience with understanding Oracle Payables, Purchasing, and General Ledger would be a valued asset. The successful candidate will have the ability to think strategically with confidence and speed in execution. Strong process-orientated, analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities will also be necessary. The incumbent must be able to adjust to rapid changes within the business, and successfully manage multiple end user issues with a collaborative style. It will be essential for the candidate to have superior problem-solving skills, the capability to adapt and be flexible, and to develop innovative concepts and techniques in order to perform out-of-scope duties to get tasks done. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and be a high-energy, motivated self-starter who exhibits excellent organizational, time management, and people management skills. This position requires the individual to have a flexible travel schedule, and to manage virtual teams located in multiple geographies. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications is also a requirement.
