Job Description

Associate Director - Operations 

  • Location: Edmonton, Alberta

  • Status: Full-Time

  • Salary Scale: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00

    Our client, a Not-For-Profit indigenous institution focused on servicing clients in the area of education, training and research is seeking an Associate Director - Operations to join their team. The Associate Director (AD) will be working as a part of the management team to lead and direct the employees in the Edmonton office. The AD will be responsible for: supporting full cycle recruitment, performance management and employee relations; establishing and implementing retention and succession planning strategies; redefining all policy and procedures; reviewing and making further recommendations for a comprehensive compensation structure (pay, benefits, perks, etc.); adhering and implementing quality, health and safety programs and acting as a change agent. The AD will need management skills in the area of budgeting and reporting on financial expenditures relating to the HR division. The AD is a key person in developing goals and success strategies within the management team and will work in conjunction to identify the existing culture of the organization and unify the culture - both operationally, strategically and financially. This is a unique position encompassing every area of Human Resources with a NPO ready for a succession plan.


    Are you a passionate Human Resources professional looking for the right challenge? The ideal Associate Director, who will report to the Director of Operations, will have 5+ years of progressive experience at a managerial level with applicable post-secondary education. Those with a designation or those pursuing a designation will be given preference. The Associate Director - Operations will be required to diagnose opportunities quickly and maximize all resources to impact change. An analytical mind, sense of urgency and results driven attitude are required. Prior experience with indigenous partnerships will be considered an asset. Professional conduct, adherence to all applicable legislation and compliance is forefront in this role. The ideal candidate for the Associate Director will possess excellent interpersonal skills, great organizational skills, and have a passion for what they do.
