We are currently looking for a Controller to join our team in Grande Prairie. As a Controller you will be responsible for executing and overseeing a broad range of full cycle accounting duties in addition to leading a growing team of professionals. You will be responsible to produce and oversee with timeliness and accuracy, financial reporting, costing, budgeting, forecasting and preparing of financial statements. You will achieve excellence by maintaining accounting principles, creating and monitoring internal controls, and providing strategic direction to your team and senior leaders within the organization.
You are a highly skilled professional accountant with a broad cross section of experience and understanding of Canadian ASPE/IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures, and tax rules. You have an undergraduate degree in Commerce/Finance & a professional accounting designation (CA/CMA/CGA) or equivalent experience with at least 3-years post designation experience within a Controllership and/or senior finance role in the Hospitality or Real Estate industry ($100MM+) and 5 years of leadership experience. You have experience working in a multi-location, multi-entity corporate structure with multiple business combinations and stakeholders.
The Controller role is specialized, highly interactive and requires a high technical proficiency in accounting. Set in a fast paced, challenging and rewarding work environment, based out of the Corporate Office, the Controller will lead Accounts Payable Coordinator, Fixed Asset Accounts, and General Ledger Accountant.
