PROJECT COST ACCOUNTANT (Full Time, Term Position to Dec. 2019), FINANCE

We’re looking for that unique swirl of skills of a Cost Accountant + Project Lead + experience in construction = one interesting and challenging opportunity! You’re awesome at keeping everything in a busy capital project on course. Although working within the Finance team you’re the key on this capital project. You’ve got initiative in spades as well as the know how to set up the tools you’ll need to pull this off and make sure the project is progressing smoothly and on budget – no surprises please! You’re also a great balance of people skills and can easily communicate and build relationships that smooth the way for effective work and creating a great work environment.



  • You’re a perfect mix of being detailed oriented with big picture thinking
  • You take being organized to a new level and love having your finger on the pulse of big capital projects and making  them come together
  • Applying your talents of implementing new and then maintaining a financial information system that provides strong financial oversight and capital project management controls
  • Communicating the big picture aspects of a project’s progress
  • Producing accurate and timely reports


  • Monitor and control costs by ensuring all invoices adhere to contract terms
  • Review and analysis of Statutory Declarations
  • Forecasts and anticipate cash flow, accounting needs for significant projects
  • Research and implement system which suits our needs and is compatible with existing software
  • Report on project as compared to budget on a timely basis
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting with Accounting designation preferred
  • Minimum 5 years similar cost accounting position with construction project experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and lead without authority to ensure outcomes are met
