Job Description

Our client, a mid-sized O&G E&P company, is currently seeking a contract PST Analyst with expertise in the jurisdiction of British Columbia for an initial 6-month term (which may be extended further). The successful PST Tax Analyst will regularly review the British Columbia Ministry of Finance Regulations and Bulletins related to PST, and will also serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to the organization on PST issues. Reporting directly to the Controller, the successful PST Tax Analyst will ensure accurate charging of BC PST, including working with vendors to correct invoicing errors, as well as creating and managing PST refund claims with the BC Ministry of Finance. The PST Tax Analyst will also be reviewing invoices in PowerVision prior to uploading in the accounting system for accurate coding, determining PST applicability, and creating and reviewing journal entries. The PST Tax Analyst will also be required to support other special projects as required.


To be considered for this position as a PST Tax Analyst, you will be a designated accountant (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA) with 3+ years' experience working with BC PST in the O&G industry (with additional experience ensuring accurate PST invoicing charges based on the 2013 PST Tax Code). Having proficiency in PowerVision software will be considered an asset.
