Corporate Internal Audit Services, Edmonton - Influence the effectiveness and efficiency of government programs that affect the day to day lives of Albertans. 

Reporting to the Deputy Minister of Treasury Board and Finance and the Internal Audit Committee, which is chaired by the Deputy Minister of Treasury Board and Finance, the Chief Internal Auditor ensures a coordinated and disciplined approach to internal audits for the Government of Alberta is undertaken. Working closely with executive and senior management from across the government, the position evaluates and makes recommendations to improve risk management, controllership, accountability and governance processes that contribute to successfully achieving government business objectives. Integrating the complex needs of multiple stakeholders and leading, coaching and developing staff are integral in this role.

You bring extensive related senior management experience, strengths in accounting and internal audit practices, and proven abilities to develop and implement financial controls that support accountability and risk management frameworks.  Your background includes managing financial and human resources, technology and information management systems.  Your demonstrated leadership, consultation and negotiation skills are critical in developing effective client relationships and building strong teams.  A Certified Internal Auditor or other recognized audit related or accounting designation is preferred. This Executive Manager position offers a salary range of $153,289 - $201,175 ($5,873.18- $7,707.88 bi-weekly). Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
