Our partner is committed to providing an infrastructure to support Malawian families facing financial and humanitarian hardship.
They began in the UK as a way of raising funds to implement community-based projects for the people living in an area on the shores of Lake Malawi. The organisation have now expanded and work in rural areas across Northern Malawi and are committed to providing education, health and agri-foresty support.
They are a longstanding partner having received six AfID volunteers who have all contributed greatly to the organisation. Past volunteer work had sought to strengthen accounting and financial management processes in the organisation by helping develop budgets, streamlining Quickbooks and improving basic bookkeeping. The last volunteer did a large amount of work on policies and the organisation have worked hard to update a number of their manuals and staff handbooks.
Your role as the seventh AfID volunteer will be a mixture of offering senior level support and mentorship whilst ensuring the basics of accounting and financial management are understood and adhered to by all members of staff.
The partner will cover the cost of you flights, accommodation and visa. As flights and accommodation are covered, please note that this assignment will incur a surcharge fee. Click for more information on AfID's fee structure.
