We are seeking a strong Accounting Manager who will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operation of the accounting department: month end process, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury. This position reports to the Corporate Controller.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintain and communicate accounting calendar according to set monthly deadlines
- Review and prepare accounting journal entries and GL reconciliations
- Complete consolidation of US subsidiary into Canadian parent
- Compile a month end audit binder with supporting documentation
- Manage the activities of the Accounts Receivable team, oversee billing process and monitor the collection progress
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable team and oversee a smooth end to end process and ensure timely invoice processing, vendor setup and payments while compliant with company policies
- Monitor treasury and banking functions to meet financial obligations of the organization; weekly cash forecasting, debt activity and borrowings
- Review and analyze accounting data, produce financial reports and monthly divisional profit and loss statements
- Provide leadership and guidance to a finance and administration team
Qualifications
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principle, practices, standards and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, prioritizing and multitasking
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to direct and supervise with strong leadership skills
- High level of personal integrity
Job Type: Full-time
Required education: Bachelor degree in commerce, finance, accounting or other relevant program.
Required experience: Minimum of 3-5 years related experience. Supervisory experience is considered an asset.
Required licenses or certifications: Professional accounting designation (CPA)
