Job Description

Our Edmonton office is seeking a Financial Analyst & Assistant Controller who will be responsible for the accurate financial reporting of the Firm's operations including collection and analysis of information essential in the effective evaluation of the Firm and its members’ performance and providing these results to the appropriate users of the information.

 

The position also provides assistance and backup to the Controller, as well as sharing the goal of the Finance department in their effort to provide a superior level of support to the lawyers and other administrative personnel of the Firm.

 

Employment Period:      One Year Maternity Leave Position (35 hours per week)

 

Position Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business

  • Professional accounting designation required

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive full cycle accounting experience, preferably within a legal environment

  • Extensive experience and knowledge in creating and managing accounting systems, budgets, internal controls and business planning

  • Advanced proficiency with Elite accounting software would be a definite asset

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel for sorting, organizing and reporting data

  • Must speak, read and write English fluently
