Our partner is an Orthopaedic centre. It was established in 1961 as a centre for children with polio, now that polio is eradicated in Ghana they have become a general rehabilitation centre.
They currently run a number of broad programmes including an orthopaedic clinic and workshop where they manufacture and repair orthopaedic appliances such as shoes, prosthesis, braces and artificial legs, arms & splints. A residential home that offers rehabilitation to babies, children and adult amputees who usually stay at the home for 3-6 months. They also run a mobile orthopaedic unit which tours the country on a regular basis providing support to those unable to visit the Centre.
Our partner feel that they would benefit from strengthening of their internal controls and financial management processes. You will assist them with creating a better monitoring system for their receipts and invoices.
The finance function has grown organically, and they would appreciate an external professional reviewing their systems and advise them on efficiencies and best practice. You will also provide support in budget creation and monitoring and assist with better inventory and stock management.
Our partner will be able to provide accommodation in one of their volunteer houses.
