Our client is recruiting for an Assistant Vice-President, Internal Audit to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive risk based audit plan for its organization. The AVP, Internal Audit will be responsible for leadership of their team’s efforts to maintain and update the risk based internal audit plan based on the department’s internal audit planning framework. You will also play a key part in contributing and shaping the overall direction, strategy and vision of Audit Services.

Reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor, the AVP, Internal Audit is to be responsible for driving and maintaining the overall direction for the internal audit department. You will have previous experience in the financial services sector along with experience in a large, complex organization. You will have leadership experience in an auditing environment and be comfortable with decision making responsibilities along with coaching and teaching a team.
You will have achieved internal audit designation (CIA) and/or an accounting designation (CPA) and will have 10 or more years of internal audit experience with 5 or more years in a leadership role. Effective project management and leadership skills and the ability to communicate results and the ability to build relationships at all levels of management important attributes.
