Our partner was born out of a project rescuing and rehoming victims of trafficking and exploitation. The idea was to create alternative and sustainable employment for those victims allowing them to bring an income to their families and invest in the next generation.
The organisation produces premium denim products which are sold in Australia. The production, administration and managerial staff are mainly made up of women who have escaped exploitation. Others come from factory work where injuries or mistreatment have left them disabled or unable to continue work. When production is slow they also offer training to staff on community health and financial management.
They have requested the support of an AFID volunteer to conduct an internal review of their existing systems, procedures and controls and implement recommendations for best practise. You will provide training to the Country Director, Accounts Assistant and other administrative staff to build their understanding and capacity.
