Director, OEG Finance

Reporting directly to the VP, Finance, the Director, OEG Finance is the principal lead on reviewing, recommending, implementing and managing financial reporting and budgeting tools. This role also acts as principal lead on OEG operational expense analysis and reporting including recommended tools and formats Supports and integrates other departments’ financial data and KPI’s into OEG’s financial statements.

 

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supporting all OEG companies’ books, records and financial reporting, including monthly Financial Statements, Bank Reports, Tax and NHL League Reports

  • Supporting external financial reporting and compliance (Banks, NHL, AHL, WHL & Independent Auditors)

  • Supporting OEG companies’ cash flow, budgeting and audit processes

  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of OEG’s financial reporting and budgeting software tools

  • Oversight of monthly variance report distributions

  • Oversight of procurement and expense processing: maintains internal financial controls and procedures; and performs regular reviews to identify and provide recommendations to improve processes and ensure efficient functioning of the organization’s financial systems

  • Supporting part time staff compensation analysis

  • Oversight of integration of OEG’s financial information as it ties back to OEG’s financial statements

  • Supporting Food and Beverage analysis, ticketing analysis and other financial data for consistency within the organization

  • Supporting CRM reporting within OEG’s financial statements

  • Supporting a select portion of OEG dasher board reporting and executive KPI reporting

Education, Experience and Skills:

    • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Accounting is required

    • CPA Designation is required

    • 6-8 years’ experience leading an accounting team in a multi division organization

  • Excellent reporting, communicating and analytical skills

  • Detail focused, strong business acumen and well versed in financial modeling and analysis

  • Organized team player able to successfully build relationships that foster cooperation within the team

  • Deadline oriented and thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Strong understanding of Accounting Systems and integration opportunities

  • Passionate about the sports and entertainment industry
