Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s financial position ensuring preparation is in accordance with Private Enterprise GAAP. The Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller is also responsible for budgeting and forecasting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, monthly reporting, and establishing and maintaining internal controls.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly consolidated financial statements
  • Managing the month end closing process and preparing the consolidation worksheets in excel
  • Lead and manage the year-end audit and be the primary contact with the external auditors
  • Timely and accurate recording of all transactions; monthly reconciliations of all Balance Sheet accounts
  • Oversee the day to day accounting department
  • Mentor and train accounting department (A/P; A/R; Payroll and Accounting clerks)
  • Develop and manage financial controls
  • Detailed financial analysis and review
  • Fixed asset and debt management
  • Inventory management and analysis
  • Assist the CFO with the annual operating and capital budgeting process
  • Assist the CFO with forecasting quarterly
  • Assist the CFO with preparation of quarterly Board of Director materials
  • Overtime as required during peak periods
  • Travel to offsite locations weekly

Qualifications and Skills

  • University Degree in Commerce
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA)
  • 5-10 years post designation experience
  • Strong interpersonal and organizations skills
  • Hedging and FX experience
  • Ability to work closely with senior management team
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to analyze information and situations and be a Problem Solver
