Executive Director, Financial Planning

Alberta Health, Edmonton. Your strategic and economic leadership will contribute to the quality and accountability of our health system and spending.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, you will lead the development and implementation of fiscal planning, strategies, policies and practices, including recommendations for the province’s health budget and spending frameworks.  You will oversee the Ministry’s restricted grant program as well as the consolidation of Alberta Health, Alberta Health Services and other health entities’ budget planning in order to achieve the strategic and fiscal objectives of the ministry.  Your strong technical expertise and collaborative leadership skills will be critical as you advise senior government officials and liaise with Alberta Health Services, as well as public sector partners, on complex financial and strategic challenges, which affect the long-term health spending of the province.   

Your background includes extensive related senior management experience with strengths in strategic financial leadership.  You are knowledgeable in accounting theory and research methods, and have experience applying economic and financial analyses to highly complex consolidated budgets, ideally in a government environment.  Your demonstrated capacity for developing relationships, leading significant projects and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders will be key to success in the role.   A degree in a related discipline and an accounting designation is preferred. This Executive Manager position offers a salary range of $125,318 – $164,691 ($4,801.47 - $6,310.03 bi-weekly).
