Salary: $113,057 - $144,758 annually based on 35 hours/week
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The County of Grande Prairie is seeking a Manager of Financial Services to lead the major administrative duties related to finance per the Municipal Government Act. The position is responsible for providing leadership in all aspects of financial management including:
Directing the Financial Services department;
Leading the operational and capital budget development;
Interpreting operating results as they affect financial position;
Ensuring departments are provided timely and accurate financial information on a regular basis for decision making and budgeting purposes;
Continuously monitoring and improving financial internal controls, policies and processes, and financial systems;
Providing information and recommendations to Council, County Administrator, Directors and departments on financial issues, analysis, and long range financial planning.
The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background including several years of leadership experience. CPA designation is mandatory. Those with previous municipal experience are preferred. Skills and experience in communication, a customer-focused approach, effective budgeting, staff development, creative and innovative thinking, accountability, and formulating sound technical recommendations for Council’s consideration will be important.
