Cultural Connections Institute - The Learning Exchange (CCI-LEX) is recruiting for its Board of Directors!
Board members are required to attend board meetings, usually on a monthly basis, and are expected to join one of the four committees: Human Resources, Governance, Fund Development and Community Engagement, or Finance.
Successful candidates will assist the organization with policy creation and overall strategic planning and direction to ensure continued quality language programming is delivered. They will responsibly review and act upon committee recommendations brought to the Board. Board members will utilize personal and professional skills, relationships, and knowledge for the advancement of CCI-LEX and its programs for newcomers.
Skills in any of the following areas would be considered assets but are not required to apply: board governance and experience in an executive role on a board; business development; marketing and communications; finance; fund development.
Fluency in verbal and written English skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well in a small group. Previous experience working with non-profit boards is considered an asset.
Experience in planning fundraising events, communications or marketing experience, public relations, and prior board experience are considered strong assets.
