The Revenue Division provides administration, compliance and enforcement activities for tax statutes administered by the Ministry of Finance. A part of the Revenue Division, the Income Taxation Branch delivers tax refund and compliance programs under various statutes and is responsible for overseeing and governance of the province's agreements with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for administering personal and corporate income taxes.
As Senior Income Tax Specialist, your role is challenging and multifaceted. The Senior Income Tax Specialist role requires a confident individual possessing strong analytical and communication skills to develop legislative and policy documents. Applying your thorough understanding of the tax system, you provide expertise to the Ministry, other provincial Ministries and other governments on income or related tax issues and administrative policy.

. Completion of law degree or must be a member in good standing with a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA; CPA, CGA ; CPA, CMA; or CPA), issued by The Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
. Minimum three (3) years' experience in researching, interpreting and applying complex income and related tax legislation.
. Experience working in a sophisticated web based computer environment
Preference may be given to applicants that have:
. Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
. Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.
. Completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax course.
. Must be willing and able to maintain a valid driver's license.
. Must be willing and able to maintain a valid passport.
. Willingness to conduct field work which may include travel within and outside of the province or the country.
