Manager, Financial Analytics
Permanent, Full-time – 35 hours per week
$98,753.20 - $123,450.60 / annum

Reporting to the Director, Finance, this full-time role is accountable for business analytics associated supporting operating and capital budget decisions, financial performance and variance reporting, council reports, detailed financial analysis and business cases for special projects. As a Finance Manager, you will lead, influence and collaborate with internal and external teams and stakeholders in the forecasting, long-range planning, and issue resolution relative to business opportunities and strategies.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the “big picture” in the application of financial rigor to operational decisions and have experience providing financial analytics, advice and assistance in the development of sound defensible business cases for new initiatives, including regional partnerships. The chosen candidate must be able to actively review, challenge and participate alongside business partners in the evaluation of goals, outcomes, targets and strategies. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring complex financial data is analyzed, compiled and presented in a meaningful, relevant timely and comprehensive manner.
If you are the ideal candidate for this role, you excel at leadership, have proven supervisory skills, and enjoy working collaborative with a wide array of stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced setting. You are a seasoned finance manager with a minimum of seven years of directly-related experience, which includes cost accounting, financial project management, financial scenario analysis, problem solving and administration within a municipality or other complex work environment. Your experience will include work within a position that required in-depth analysis of financial data using tools such as statistical information and trend analysis. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree (business, accounting or public administration) and an accounting designation (CPA). You will possess highly developed written, verbal, presentation and communication skills; strong analytical skills; attention to detail; and, be an advance Excel user. Knowledge of Great Plains and Team Budget is preferred.
