The John Howard Society of the Thompson Region is a non-profit agency that is focused on supporting vulnerable individuals in our community. The Society is currently seeking a full-time Director of Corporate & Financial Services to provide stewardship, oversight and management of the agency’s financial department and operations.
Under the direction of the agency CEO and as a member of the senior management team, the Director of Corporate and Financial Services provides stewardship, oversight and management of the agency’s financial department and operations. This position is responsible for managing the Finance and Administrative staff including oversight of the financial operations of the Society and to provide accurate information to the agency CEO, Board of Directors, JHSTR’s stakeholders and funders. The Director of Corporate and Financial Services reports directly to the agency CEO and has a one-year probationary period. The Director of Corporate and Financial Services ensures the fulfillment of contractual deliverables including reporting requirements, and monitoring contract compliance to agency funders and statutory bodies.
The Director of Corporate and Financial Services has a Chartered Professional Accountant designation and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial management, accounting or an MBA with a focus on financial experience. Must possess a combination of people leadership, financial acumen and business savvy. Experience in the non-profit sector is considered an asset. The Director of Corporate and Financial Services has sound knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications. This role requires the demonstrated ability to lead and direct the finance and administrative department in a $6 million multi-funded agency with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity. Previous experience executing major initiatives such as partnership, major change, new system implementation or expansion will be an asset.
Annual Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. The Society provides a comprehensive Management Benefits Package.
