Executive Director, Financial Institutions Policy

Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, Edmonton. Positively influence and build policy capacity for Alberta’s financial institutions and capital markets.

 

As a champion for an equitable and fair environment you will oversee the strategic leadership, management and direction of policy, legislation and regulation for financial institutions and capital markets.  Your executive approach to balancing the needs and interests of often opposing stakeholders within the unique environment of a crown owned financial institution regarding ownership and commercial/public mandate will position you for success.  Through extensive collaboration with key stakeholders you will impact a positive and fair framework for financial institutions and capital market services.  Building effective relationships with financial institutions nationally and internationally will be critical in this role, as will identifying emerging trends and ensuring a blend of regulation and policy.  This position requires political acumen and exceptional communication skills as it plays a significant role in informing, influencing and making recommendations at very senior levels.

 

Your background includes extensive progressive experience in leadership roles within financial institutions and a strong understanding of capital markets and financial management frameworks.  Your depth of understanding of financial institutions, markets, services and tools will position you to make sound recommendations regarding legislation and regulation. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills will be key in leading and mentoring teams and working effectively with external parties, internal stakeholders and financial institution participants.  You have a penchant for innovation and have led organizations through change.  A graduate degree in Business Administration, Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered Professional Accountant designation or similar degree/designation is preferred. This Executive Manager position offers a salary range of $125,318 - $164,691 (bi-weekly $4,801.47 - $6,301.03).  Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.  This competition may be used to fill future vacancies.
