Responsibilities:

Lethbridge College has an exciting opportunity for a results–driven individual to take on the role of Business Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting, the successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to assist in moving the college forward by applying skills in financial and statistical analysis and business intelligence. The Business Analyst performs a full range of financial and statistical analytical support adding value and alignment with the strategic initiatives of the College.

The incumbent must have a keen eye for detail, the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Job Duties:

The successful candidate will be accountable to the Manager, Financial Reporting and working with management of specific areas the key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the budgeting, forecasting and monitoring systems and processes in support of decision-making, and develop strategic opportunities for business improvements;
• Recommend and implement change, identify training requirements, develop business process improvement, carryout business case analysis, identify potential risks, assist in the development of business plans;
• Assisting with strategic financial analysis as required to drive improved decision making;
• Preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results to Deans, Budget officers and Director, Financial Services;
• Developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with internal and external stakeholders;
• Providing sound advice and guidance to areas you support on all account matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis and reporting;
• Under the direction of the Manager, Financial Reporting and working with the Finance team assist in the formulation of system-wide accounting policies, procedures and controls;

Required Qualifications:

• Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA, CPA), plus 3 to 5 years of business management experience. Experience and/or additional qualifications in the use of business intelligence tools and applications
• Strong analytical and computer skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment as well as independently
• Proven organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Salary: $72,414 to $85,194 per annum
