Analyst/Specialist, Corporate Reporting

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Corporate Reporting Analyst or Specialist coordinates projects associated to entities that CP is acquiring and integrating, provides a primary point of contact for the execution of external audits and ensures the Company’s balance sheet accounting reconciliation policy and procedures are followed.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinate, assist and/or plan accounting and reporting projects associated with the acquisition and integration of new subsidiaries;
  • Liaise with external auditors to support their execution of audit activities through coordination with different internal stakeholders;
  • Administer access and data within account reconciliation process;
  • Monitor the account reconciliation process and ensure that balance sheet account reconciliation policy and procedures are followed;
  • Support other external and legal entity reporting activities;
  • Ensure financial reporting and disclosures outputs associated with responsibilities are in compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), tax, securities regulation, and SOX;
  • As assigned, research US GAAP and SEC guidance, identify alternatives and document recommended positions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • CPA designated or training towards a CPA designation;
  • Knowledge of US GAAP requirements, desirable;
  • Application Expertise (desirable): ERP/SAP, BPC, Excel, Workiva, Blackline;
  • Process Management Skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders;
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Management Conductor Program:
