Are you an experienced finance professional ready to lead and inspire? We're seeking a dynamic Director of Finance to oversee all accounting, finance, forecasting, and information systems functions within Canadian Kraft Paper Industries Limited. This senior leadership role is integral to our strategic planning and overall business success.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Management:
- Lead the accounting, finance, and information technology functions.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and company policies.
- Collaborate with the President on strategic decisions and business planning.
- Manage relationships with investors, banks, and insurance institutions.
- Oversee financial system implementations and upgrades.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Provide accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts.
- Develop key performance indicators and dashboards for financial monitoring.
- Analyze and report on operating costs, sales, and business profitability.
- Prepare financial analysis for business development, negotiations, and investment decisions.
Risk Management:
- Identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements.
- Ensure proper insurance coverage for property, business interruption, and information systems.
- Monitor property assessments and file appeals as necessary.
People Leadership:
- Promote employee well-being, health, and safety.
- Provide guidance and direction to finance and technology teams.
- Support career development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation and change.
Planning & Analytics:
- Participate in strategic meetings and contribute to operational discussions.
- Develop two-to-five-year business plans with the President and department managers.
- Manage cash flow, banking relations, and financial benchmarks.
- Assist with strategic plans and contract reviews for Woodlands & Nisokapawino.
Compliance & Control:
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal reporting requirements.
- Oversee financial reports for internal and external use.
- Coordinate financial review engagements and procedural improvements.
Qualifications:
- Education: University degree in a related field, plus a CPA or equivalent designation.
- Experience: 10-15 years of post-designation experience with increasing responsibilities in finance and business leadership.
