Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct reporting to Owner/Management team, and external accountants
  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting packages including financial statements
  • Processing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll monthly                                                 
  • Cash flow management and budget development/tracking
  • Inventory tracking and reporting
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts
  • Employing risk management strategies including raw material sourcing and global risk assessments    
  • Enhance cost-reduction strategies

Education:

  • Detailed knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)
  • CPA designation (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent

Skill requirements:

  • Superior communication skills
  • Proficiency in ASPE
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of Applications, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Competence with Sage 50

Job Type:

  • Full-time onsite at the Vegreville, Alberta location
  • Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Salary and benefits:

  • $120,000 - $130,000; dependent on qualifications and experience
  • Standard CPP and EI
  • CPA annual fees and professional development to meet designation requirements
  • Four weeks’ vacation
