NorQuesters are difference makers, and we’re searching for someone who can start small and think BIG in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets. They will also facilitate the planning and forecasting, fee planning and validation, and financial support to client divisions.
Reporting to the Manager of Business Advisory Services, the Senior Business Analyst uses analytical and technical proficiency for monthly, quarterly, and year-end processes. The Senior Business Analyst will have a client focus, reviewing and providing recommendations for improvement of the budgeting and forecasting processes and procedures. This position also ensures timely and accurate delivery of budgets and forecasts, ensuring the reporting requirements of the College are met while supporting clients regarding budgeting, forecasting and reporting issues, and coordinating the timely reporting of variance analyses for both internal and external purposes.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Prepare cost analysis for both proposed and existing educational programs.
- Provide analytical support and develop ad hoc reporting to enable the various divisions to meet the College’s objectives and initiatives.
- Interact with management to discuss results of analysis and recommendations; identify business risks, uncertainties, and mitigating activities.
- Assist with the compilation of forecasted costs for project proposals.
- Investigate technology options for various business challenges.
- Provide technical support in the development of the fiscal budget and reconcile monthly budget adjustments.
- Identify process improvements by mechanizing manual accounting processes.
- Coordinate with Division’s monthly reporting of these variances for input into College Operations Report.
- Review financial grant reports that are submitted to funders, for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end support to Financial Services.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of experience in both accounting and business operational support to clients.
- University degree in related field.
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA / CA / CMA / CGA) is required.

- Business and financial planning and forecasting experience.
- Knowledge of internal controls and mitigating risks.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet goals, and stay within timelines while working independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Ability to extract detail and provide comprehensive executive summaries.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of financial statement audit preparation.
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Progressive understanding of financial and management accounting.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and/or the educational or public sector is a considerable asset.
SALARY: $79,436 - $99,264 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time perm. position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
