- Continue to develop and maintain partnerships and opportunities with sector partners and organizations in Alberta.
Director Requirements:
- Must have, or be willing to purchase, an InMotion Network Membership
- Normally reside in Alberta
- Have a significant interest in the development of women’s sport, leadership, recreation or physical activity in Alberta.
Director Responsibilities:
As a Director of the InMotion Network, your role is to support the interests of women and girls so that they have the opportunity to meaningfully participate, as leaders, coaches, officials, athletes, participants and administrators in the sport, physical activity and recreation sector.
This is done by working together to remove barriers for individuals who have been, and continue to be, underserved by our sport, recreation, and physical activity systems. Directors, individually and collectively as the Board of Directors are ultimately responsible for the operation and affairs of the InMotion Network (IMN) and required to participate in the deliberation and decisions in governance matters.
It is desired that the Board of Directors represents a broad spectrum of interests and stakeholders and that they will be elected based on their participation and involvement in sport, leadership, recreation and physical activity in Alberta, and most importantly their support of the mandate of the InMotion Network. Given this, those seeking to be Directors of the InMotion Network should have relevant leadership within one of the sport, recreation and/or physical activity sectors. They should be individuals who are committed to attending all or most of the Board’s meetings and actively participate, and to be willing to represent the InMotion Network on ad hoc and standing committees whether they are internal or external in nature.
Term of Office:
A Director being elected, as per the Bylaws, shall hold office for a 2 year term with the ability to renew for a total of 4 terms.
As a board, we are committed to forming an equitable, diverse, and inclusive InMotion Network. As such, we encourage First Nations, Métis, and Inuit persons; members of visible minority groups; persons with disabilities; persons of any sexual orientation or gender identity and expression; and all those who may further contribute to the diversification of ideas to apply.
Individuals interested in putting their name forward as a candidate are requested to email a covering letter identifying their motivation to serve as a Director of the InMotion Network and what they wish to leave as a legacy of your service, along with a resume to: chair@inmotionetwork.org
Requests for additional information and inquiries should be directed to the Executive Director, Lindsay Wright, at 780-
644-5613 or emailed to: info@inmotionetwork.org
While we appreciate all expressions of interest, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2025.
