Director, Finance

Job Summary 

The Hospitals of Regina Foundation has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Finance. Reporting to the President & CEO and serving as an integral member of the senior leadership team. The Director, Finance is responsible for ensuring appropriate fiscal management, accounting, risk management and reporting of the financial position of Hospitals of Regina Foundation, including external reporting for regulatory compliance and internal reporting of performance against established strategic and business plan measurements. The Director is also responsible for setting internal control procedures and policies safeguarding the Foundations assets and information, including the collection and disbursement of donated funds. 

Qualifications and Skills 

A professional accounting designation (CPA), 3-5 years of experience in a senior management role, and strong knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) are essential. We are looking for someone with good written, oral and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with senior management, board members and staff. Additionally, a high awareness of business issues and regulations, and experience with policy development are required. Non-profit accounting experience would be an asset. 

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of personal and professional integrity, strong financial and business acumen. The ability to lead others in the development of the annual business plan and budget is critical, along with being a collaborative leader and mentor. The person in this senior level position will be an innovative, outside the box thinker who has the proven ability to inspire fresh thinking to improve business performance, and a self-starter that takes initiative and always follows through on a commitment.
