Currently, we have an immediate opening for the right candidate to develop their skills in full cycle accounting and leadership as a Controller . This position will offer long term stability, competitive compensation and ongoing mentorship from the President.
Responsibility:
- Work with the President to define, analyze, improve and control current processes which impact customer quality and influence internal operating efficiency
- Provide thoughtful support and advice on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis and reporting
- Oversee all accounting functions including; accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, general ledger reporting and tax compliance
- Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in alignment with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures
- Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for each branch and department against set budgets
- Coordinate the year-end review and preparation of financial statements; work with external auditors, CRA and government agencies as required
- Prepare other monthly financial statements and external reporting to financial institutions, ensuring that all requirements are met
- Manage the yearly budget process, work closely with the President and branch managers to set monthly targets
- Manage, research and negotiate various supplier contracts and agreements
- Hire, train, mentor and supervise accounting staff
- Other related duties as required or assigned

Requirements:
- University Degree in Accounting and Designation (CPA)
- At least three to five years of experience working as an Accountant or Controller for an industrial organization (automotive, manufacturing or construction)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel and Office suite; ability to adapt to and learn new software
- Financial analysis, budgeting and some strategic planning experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, problem solving and organizational skills are essential
