Stagewest Hospitality is seeking a Corporate Controller for the Head Office in Calgary, Alberta.
Stagewest Hospitality/Mayfield Investments is predominately a Hospitality management and ownership group that has been operating in Canada since 1944.
Some of Stagewest’s companies are the Medicine Hat Lodge Resort, Stagewest Calgary, Camrose Casino & Resort, Violino’s and Play Winery. This family company is primarily involved in hospitality but also in banking, travel agency and real estate.
The Corporate Controller’s role is to review financial data from all properties so that he/she can:
. Prepare cash forecasts for the company
. Review and approve payables and payroll
. Prepare monthly financial statements
. With input from management, prepare annual budgets
. Provide analysis, on a quarterly and annual basis, of budgets, with discussion with management
. Year-end audits with external accountants.
In addition to excellent communication skills, this individual is required to be aware of all accounting procedures and is aware of provincial and federal regulations.
Individual is required to have CPA designation, with 3 years or more years’ experience in a senior role.
It is preferred that candidates have a hospitality background in accounting; however, all candidates will be accessed on education and experience.
