The Finance, Risk and Supply Chain Group consists of a variety of departments responsible for a wide range of services supporting Council and City operations. The Financial Planning & Analysis Department plays a critical role in helping the City’s leaders enhance and optimize their business operations through the use of intelligent data.

Reporting to the General Manager, Finance, Risk and Supply Chain Management / Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis advances the City’s operations through financial leadership, service excellence and innovation. The Director develops and owns the City’s long term financial planning and budgeting; leads development of the City’s service planning and metrics; and provides strategic decision support and financial support to all Business Units, enabling transformation and ensuring Value for Money.  Leading a team of 50, the Director develops and implements policies and programs, manages complex process changes, leads special projects and acts as a strategic business partner responsible for data driven decision making.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, innovative and accomplished financial leader who brings a track record of experience gained in a financial planning, analysis and business support role in a complex public or private sector organization. Alternatively, the candidate may have a broad senior finance role in an organization with a heavy reliance on data and analysis for business decision making.  This is a high profile and influential role that interacts with Council and other stakeholders.
