Accountant

Command Fishing & Pipe Recovery Ltd. is currently accepting resumes for a full-time permanent Accountant.  We are a mid-sized oilfield services company based in Nisku with easy access from Beaumont, Leduc and South Edmonton.  We provide oilfield fishing, pipe recovery services and specialized tool rentals from locations throughout Western Canada.  We also have locations in Grande Prairie, Bonnyville, Lloydminster, Estevan and a Calgary Sales office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Maintain working papers, bank reconciliations and complete month end entries for prepaid expenses, amortization etc thus ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the financial processes and helping safeguard the company’s assets.

Review system generated reports for errors and missed information via variance analysis and reasonableness tests. Circulate completed reports to the respective branch managers and follow up to answer any questions.

Work with AP/AR and payroll processes to ensure no incompatible duties. As such, the accountant will complete ETFs with the bank, complete cheque runs, approve electronic bill payments and maintain customer/vendor files.

Work with other staff members to complete GST, PST, WCB and CRA payroll remittances and ensure all deadlines are met.

Work with branch managers and operation manager to compete annual budgets.  Update and maintain financial models used for internal reporting and analysis.

Crosstrain with AP to provide holiday relief.

There is the potential to add more responsibilities depending on experience and interests.

This is a great opportunity learn and complete full cycle accounting in a mid-sized company.  Command is willing to provide mentorship through CPA program by an experienced CFO.

Some accounting experience 1-3 years.  Undergraduate degree in Business or Management with a recent CPA or a CPA candidate in the program would be considered an asset.

MS Excel skills, mid-sized ERPs MS Dynamic GP experience a plus
