If so, EPCOR’s Finance & Planning, Water Services Finance has an excellent opportunity for you.  EPCOR has one (1) permanent full time position is available!

The Analyst is accountable for the reporting and analysis of the budgets and forecasts functions for Water Services Canada and Commercial Services. This includes providing overall analysis and support to the areas of responsibility for the Manager, Budgets and Forecasts.

Detailed Description:

The accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the development, implementation and review of budgets and forecast processes to ensure compliance of policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensure mitigation of risks.
  • Assisting in identifying the necessary requirements for the provision of accurate and timely budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes for Water Services Canada and Commercial Services, including appropriate reporting and variance analysis.
  • Preparing supplementary reporting and analysis for budget/forecast/long-term plan presentations to Senior Management.
  • Supporting continuous improvement in the area of budgets and forecasts and financial reporting through identifying areas and ideas for improvement and carrying out continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics ensuring completion of accurate financial reporting within prescribed timelines, ensuring the satisfaction of operations management through the provision of customer focused financial analysis and expertise.
  • Analyzing financial information and preparing journal vouchers with supporting source documentation as required.
  • Maintain high quality internal controls including adherence to CSOX requirements
  • Providing assistance and analysis in support of the Manager, Budgets and Forecasts

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree (or Equivalent) in Business, Finance or Accounting. 
  • Completed or near completion of an Accredited Accounting Designation program. 
  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience. 
  • Demonstrated high level understanding of all EPCOR Water Operations and the capability to apply the relevant knowledge and technical skills to provide operations management with relevant financial analysis and input.
  • Strong financial and data analysis skills, and advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Advanced understanding and experience working with a larger enterprise accounting software program, such as Oracle Financials.
  • Experience with other Oracle Modules, reporting tools and work management systems (such as Business Intelligence, IVARA and Oracle AR) would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to frequently transition between working independently and supporting team initiatives.

  • Capability to quickly learn new concepts and apply the relevant knowledge and technical skills to provide operations management with relevant financial analysis and input.

Jurisdiction: CSU52; Class: T3

Wage: $45.24- $53.99 per hour

Hours of work: 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
