Audit Manager

Reporting to an Audit Engagement Leader you will be responsible for leading the execution of both financial statement audits and performance audits in an assigned portfolio in accordance with professional standards including Canadian Audit Standards, Canadian Standard on Assurance Engagements 3001, Public Sector Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards.

Critical to your success will be experience managing multiple projects and teams leading through others and enabling a team of independent self-managed professionals by helping them define expectations for results and outcomes while supporting their efforts of self-accountability.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate highly developed critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills. You have the ability to build collaborative relationships in a team environment and are able to apply tact and professional judgement when dealing with complex situations. 

Qualifications

University degree and CPA designation with the right to practice public accounting. A minimum of five years of directly related audit experience including the development of detailed audit plans, risk identification and mitigation strategies. In-depth knowledge of Canadian Audit Standards and Public Sector Accounting Standards. Project management experience is also required as this position will be required to manage multiple projects at the same. Experience preparing written reports and presenting to senior leadership.

Skills and experience which would be considered assets:                              

  • Public Sector experience
  • Experience in applying audit data analytics
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Experience as a CPA mentor
