Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will be overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, and is responsible for the coordination of financial reporting, budgeting and planning, streamlining processes, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of accounting information to internal and external users, and playing an active role in strategic planning. In addition, the successful Controller will be leading their own team, supervising monthly financial reporting and year end files, preparing consolidated/combined financial statements, and liaising with third party consultants and financial institutions. The ideal candidate for the position of Controller will be a self-motivated and self-managed problem solver, with a professional accounting designation accountant. In addition to a minimum of 2 years of post-designation experience, they will have excellent communication skills, will have some leadership experience, and be comfortable in a high-volume, high transaction environment. Exposure and understanding of intercompany transactions is considered a strong asset. In addition, they will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as QuickBooks.
