Guinea | Pro Bono Accountant | Youth-led Social Enterprise | 6 - 8 Weeks [573]

Our partner is a youth-led movement to end unemployment in West Africa through investing in the entrepreneurial ecosystem to ignite social change. They are seeking the support of an Accountant (French speaker desirable) to help build the capacity of the local team.

Their work is based on the core principles of local ownership, innovation, cross-sector collaboration and financial sustainability. Their primary programs include their social business incubator and agri hub offering training, investment and support to West African youth. By the end of this year, these entrepreneurs will have collectively created employment for 475 of their peers.

The organisation recently lost their accountant and reached out to AfID looking for the support of a French speaker pro bono accountant to help them set up processes and procedures, train a new accountant, and build the capacity of their current staff.

Your role will include an assessment of their accounting & financial management systems, helping them to set up processes & procedures, providing training & support to their new accountant and building the capacity of their current staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain relevant experience in an international NGO, with the aim of transitioning into the sector. Guinea is a beautiful country with a lot of outdoors activities close to the capital city of Conakry.  Hiking to waterfalls and islands 30 minutes off the coast are popular weekend activities.

To express your interest in this role or explore other volunteering opportunities in Africa, Asia or South America, please email your CV and cover letter to AfID and visit the Accounting for International Development website.
