Vice President, Finance

Canlin Energy Corporation is a privately held, long reserve life, natural gas weighted producer in Western Canada.  Our E&P business produces over 45,000 boe per day from predominately operated wells, infrasturcture and facilities.   The VP, Finance will lead the Finance team ensuring that the core control, financial accounting, reporting and planning business performance, liquidity, capital allocation, commodity hedging and risk/control processes are consistently applied. 

  • To play a leading and collaborative role on the Canlin Senior Leadership Team working closely with the CEO
  • Provide expert financial, risk management and business input to critical decisions and governance affecting the strategic development and operations
    1. Preparation of Board of Directors packages and presentations quarterly
  • Ensure that effective financial processes and controls are in place for Canlin Energy Corporation
    1. Financial accounting and report processes
    2. Information Services General and Application Controls
    3. Entity level controls e.g. Delegation of Authority
    4. Compliance with risk management and control frameworks
    5. Tax, Treasury, and hedging commodity risk
  • Treasury and Banking accountability
    1. Manages the relationship with banking syndicate on a c$165m reserves based loan (RBL)
    2. Oversees the bi-annual borrowing base redetermination process, collaborating with internal reserves manager and technical team from banking syndicate
  • Acquisition and Divestiture processes
  • Provides support on financial due diligence on asset transactions
  • Drive an effective business performance management and planning process 
  1. Lead planning and forecasting cycle, including the development of business and financial targets
  2. Reporting on and driving performance against Plans and Forecasts, particularly operational performance, cost management, project and change delivery and financial returns           
  • Promote a culture of safety, high performance and entrepreneurship across the Finance team
  • Develop a high performing Finance team – strong engagement, adequate staffing levels, competence framework and succession planning
