To assist the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent of Schools in fulfilling their oversight responsibilities for the financial reporting process, the system of internal controls, the external audit process and monitoring the District's compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to financial operations.
The External Audit Committee member will work with the Audit Committee, consisting of three elected trustees and the Superintendent of Schools. The External Member will be independent to the school district and to it's external auditors and is a CPA . The External Member will be remunerated at the same rate as trustees for committee work and will serve a two - year term with the option to extend. It is anticipated that the external member will attend 2 meetings per year related to the external audit .
