Corporate Reporting Analyst

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Corporate Reporting Analyst will provide technical and professional support for the purpose of aligning financial information with business activities through internal and external financial reporting and analysis. The objective of this role is to provide reliable information that management and investors/stakeholders can use in making sustainable business decisions.

This individual will perform business analytical and accounting functions, assure financial reporting controls are operating effectively, contribute to business unit initiatives and function as a liaison on corporate processes with a variety of groups. The Corporate Reporting Analyst will monitor actual financial performance against budgeted and forecast expectations and is a technical resource to the Corporation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute with the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and management reporting package
  • Assist with preparing budget and forecast models
  • Assist with the preparation of stock-based compensation calculations
  • Assist with the development of financial reports in Great Plains and Management Reporter
  • Support the preparation of annual and interim MD&A and consolidated financial statements
  • Liaise with external auditors
  • Liaise with various divisions within the Corporation
  • Aid with corporate tax compliance
  • Support and actively participate in internal control compliance, including CSOX requirements and testing
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting and policy research as well as various business unit projects
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the various business areas to ensure that proposed solutions meet business needs
  • Assist with treasury functions and perform other duties as required

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • CPA (CA) designation with 1-3 years relevant post designation experience
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience with Great Plains is considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail
  • Must be able to manage competing priorities and demonstrate superior organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Responsive and positive work attitude is essential
