Tax Clinic Phone Support Volunteer

The CPA Alberta Tax Clinic Program is looking for volunteers. In 2019, from March 12 to April 18, tax clinics will be held in co-operation with seniors’ homes, community centres, and other not-for-profit agencies. The Tax Clinic Program mission is to help low-income Albertans complete their tax returns for free. CPAs, CPA candidates and students* are invited to volunteer for a number of available positions. If you or someone you know might be interested, please complete the online application form.

Note: If you are not a member of CPA Alberta, you will need to create an account before registering. Need help creating an account?

Tax Clinic Phone Support Volunteer

Phone support volunteers will act as an additional resource to volunteers who are “in the field” completing returns on-site, by answering questions related to completing personal tax returns, should the need arise. Ideally, a phone volunteer would commit to 1 week of phone support.

Individuals interested in volunteering for a phone support position must be a CPA and have:

  • a minimum of three years of  tax clinic experience;
  • work experience in the tax field;
  • attended an information session;
  • be available in the evenings from 6-9 pm; and
  • have experience using ProFile tax software.

Note: The number of calls a phone support volunteer will field, if any, may vary. Our best estimate is between 1-5 calls a week.
