CPA Articling Student

Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking an energetic, CPA Articling Student in either Edmonton or Calgary who is passionate about contributing to AHS’ success and continual improvement. This is a 3-year rotational position with work terms in the Finance and Internal Audit departments. You will gain industry experience while working towards obtaining a CPA designation. Opportunities abound as you assist with financial reporting, treasury assignments, and internal audits, while obtaining key competencies required for a CPA designation. These include performance measurement and reporting, governance strategy, risk management, decision making, and assurance.

All Non-Union Exempt positions are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the AUPE General Support Services bargaining unit. If this position is impacted, the incumbent will be notified accordingly.

Description:

The CPA Articling Student key responsibilities include identifying key risks of an assignment, analyzing client assurance needs, developing or evaluating financial reporting processes, and preparing financial statements. Qualifications:

A university degree with a major in Accounting and successful completion of prerequisite requirements for the CPA Professional Education Program. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
