Volunteer Treasurer

Description of Charity/Foundation:
NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank (NMMB)is Canada's only community based milk bank. Operating as a charitable organization, NMMB screens breast feeding mothers, accepting donations of excess milk from approved donors to be pasteurized in our lab. Milk is dispensed to Neonatal Intensive Care Units and at home. We dispense to 27 hospitals across Canada. We believe and science supports that human milk is the best option for any baby and that all babies have the right to the life-saving nutrients of pasteurized donor human milk.

Description of Role:
We are looking for a treasurer that can be a support for our talented Office Manager and attend and participate at 4 BoD meetings per year.
All reporting is completed by Office Manager. We require someone that can aid in other projects as they come up (eg. accounting controls, assist with budget, banking, investments etc). We anticipate that we will need assistance 4-5 hours/month.

Certification/Education Required:
CPA, CA, CFA, etc.
