BIS Training Solutions is a fast-paced, high growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We are expanding our team and seeking a full-time, detail-oriented, computer savvy senior accountant to work in our Sherwood Park office.

Our successful team member will be responsible for:
- Payroll preparation, processing, and reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate and timely continuity schedules
- Operational accounting and preparing financial records
- Monthly journal entry preparation
- Fixed asset management and tracking
- Accounts payable & receivable management
- Entering and maintaining records
- Bank deposits & account reconciliations (including US accounts & exchange rates)
- Year end, GST, WCB, and T4 preparation and filings, and remittances
- Invoicing and project estimating
- Auditing bookkeeper work for accuracy and compliance with internal accounting policies
- Preparing, supporting, and tracking budgets and forecasts and reporting findings to management
- Performing financial analysis to provide cost savings and profit-maximizing ideas, reviewing ratios against industry and internal benchmarks and suggesting corrective actions for unwanted variances, identifying trends, and developing business growth strategies
- Developing and monitoring pricing and compensation strategies
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years’ post-secondary accounting education with ongoing professional development
- Minimum four years’ of full-cycle accounting completing all responsibilities outlined above
- Ability to work unassisted in QuickBooks/ QuickBooks Online (or equivalent) accounting software
- Intermediate or higher-level Excel skills (including vertical look-ups, data sorting, etc.)
Assets:
- Finance training, experience, and/or education
- Auditing experience
