With continued growth, we are seeking an experienced professional Controller to join our team for Lemax Machine and Welding Inc. (Acden Lemax). The Controller reports directly to the Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and indirectly to the executive and management of Acden Lemax.

In this role, you will be accountable to manage the accounting functions of the company in a timely and efficient manner. You will be expected to undertake all aspects of financial management. Your responsibilities will also include financial risk management and maintaining relationships with financial institutions.

As a Controller, you will be required to: manage all financial accounting functions including: invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, work-in-process, inventory, general ledger, banking, and external reporting requirements.

You will provide or conduct all the managerial accounting functions which include but is not limited to: cost accounting, asset accounting, budgets and internal reports to management.

You will be expected to prepare and present timely financial statements and managerial reports, and coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting. It is expected that you will support month-end and year-end close processes, support the year-end audit process, client audits and regulatory audits. As a Controller, you will ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting for Acden and subsidiaries. You will develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, and will assist with payroll when necessary.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration, or equivalent business experience, as well as a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a major organization or a large division of a corporation. You will be a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and be proficient with Sage accounting software (user and administration experience). As the successful candidate, you will have excellent analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong presentation skills. As the Controller, you will have experience with creating financial statements and reports for executives and boards of directors. Along with your financial background, you will also have experience with manufacturing companies.
