Public Member, Audit Committee

Parkland School Division No. 70 is looking for a Public Member to sit on the Audit Committee.  The Audit Committee is a Committee of the Board of Trustees and consists of the three Trustees and on Public Member.

The Audit Committee assists the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibility for reliable financial reporting, effective internal controls and compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements.  Audit Committee meetings are expected to consist of 4 half-day commitments with the potential for additional meetings.

The preferred candidate for this Committee position will have an accounting designation and knowledge of financial reporting procedures, internal controls and governance.  Terms of Reference for the Audit Committee may be viewed on Parkland School Division’s public website under Our Board, Board Policies (Board Committees – Policy 8: Appendix  8.7 – Audit Committee).

Compensation is provided in accordance with Board Policy 7 (Appendix 7.3, Committee Per Diem Rate).
