Accounts Payable Clerk

Work as an Accounts Payable Clerk in a stimulating work environment with a team of highly skilled professionals through this opportunity offered by Accountemps.  This position works closely and reports to the Accounting Manager and handles all general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department.  The primary focus of this role is matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the Edmonton area and will be a short-term temporary position.

Major responsibilities

- Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

- Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling

- Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis

- Complete full-cycle A/P

- Execute additional tasks as needed

- Provide customer service to internal business partners

- Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

- Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

 

Requirements:

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

- Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Oracle or SAP

- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel

- Account reconciliation experience highly desired

- Adeptness in analysis

- Finance experience preferred
