Not-for-profit board members to serve as on the Finance Committee and one to serve as Treasurer

Cornerstone Counselling Centre is a faith-based charity with a mission to ensure that professional mental health services are accessible to all. Cornerstone is currently seeking board members with financial expertise to join our Board of Directors to work on the Finance Committee.   A strong Finance Committee is vital to ensure the integrity of Cornerstone’s financial procedures and its financial operations. The committee meets at least quarterly with the Executive Director to review the financial reports. Committee members must have sufficient financial knowledge to review and discuss financial reports and Finance Policy and Procedures.  We are also specifically seeking someone to act as treasurer and lead the committee.  Positions on the Financial Committee are an excellent opportunity for volunteers with a financial background who are looking to dedicate some of their time to a worthwhile charity. Some expectations of our board members are as follows:

• Support Cornerstone’s mission and values.
• Attend and participate in board and committee meetings, one strategic planning meeting a year and special events whenever possible.
• Participate in the Finance Committee, and serve on ad-hoc committees as necessary.
• Help communicate and promote Cornerstone’s mission and programs to the community and assist with fundraising events as availability permits.
• Understand the policies and procedures of Cornerstone.
• Adhere to Cornerstone’s Board member code of conduct.
