Community Ambassadors Committee Positions

Consider joining the Alberta CPAs Community Ambassadors Board of Directors!
The Community Ambassadors are a volunteer group of Alberta CPAs who are committed to helping CPAs find meaningful and productive volunteer opportunities. The group connects CPAs with volunteer opportunities across Alberta that help build their skills by offering financial expertise, leadership and guidance to non-profit organizations.
We are presently looking for six (6) CPAs to join our Board of Directors. As Board members in either Officer or Director roles, you are required to attend general meetings, attend ad-hoc Board meetings, promote and attend networking events, and commit to developing and progressing the Community Ambassadors’ strategic plan. We currently have team members in both Calgary and Edmonton, and are interested in expanding our membership across the province.
Prior experience is not required, just a passion for making a difference in the community! Board roles require approximately a one-hour commitment per month, with the exception of the project-related roles noted below. Interested applicants should be able to commit to a minimum one-year (12-month) term.
We are specifically looking volunteers to fill the following roles:
The Money Guru! The Community Ambassadors are looking for someone to develop, review and update our controls and reporting.If you have experience with creating simple and effective controls and reporting for small working boards, we want to hear from you!
You are the glue to the team’s effective communications by ensuring the Community Ambassadors’ meetings and records are recognized efficiently, including organizing our board communications, official external communications, and legal documents.
- Website Maintenance:
Our web presence could use a makeover.If you have a passion for making websites pop, this could be a match made in heaven!This role will be responsible for leading a project to update our website and maintaining it thereafter, including posting ongoing volunteer opportunities and events.
- Social Media Star:
Are you connected with all things Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn?We want to meet you!This position will be responsible for maintaining our presence on all social media channels, including posting and sharing new volunteer opportunities and promoting networking events.
- Event Planner and Networker Extraordinaire:
If you love planning events, hosting social engagements, meeting new people and bridging networks and resources, this is the role for you. The Community Ambassadors are looking for someone to assist in event planning and execution across Alberta.
- Communication Expert and CPA Alberta Liaison:
This role is vital for ensuring that the activities, events and opportunities the Community Ambassadors provide are promoted and communicated to the wider profession through the support of CPA Alberta.This role is responsible for monitoring our general inbox, and will also be responsible managing a project to develop a database to house our CPA and NPO connections.
